Frequently Asked Questions – Immigration Law

Answer the questions most frequently asked by foreign nationals.

The procedure at the Ministry of Internal Affairs usually takes 30–60 days from the submission of a complete application. With our guidance, the documentation is prepared correctly from the first submission, thus avoiding delays due to incomplete applications.
A work permit is also required for work in Serbia (except in exceptional cases provided for by law). We assist in obtaining both temporary residence permits and work permits as a unified procedure.
Serbian citizenship by adoption can be acquired after three years of continuous residence, and by descent (Serbian ancestors) without this condition. Spouses of Serbian citizens can apply after three years of marriage.
A negative decision can be appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and then by filing a lawsuit with the Administrative Court. PM Attorneys handle these procedures and in a large number of cases successfully challenge negative decisions.
